Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including month-end closings, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities
- Prepare and review tax documents, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial assets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
- Lead audits and ensure adherence to GAAP and industry standards
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff on best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with remote work proficiency
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software platforms
- Proven ability to manage complex financial projects with minimal supervision
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder reporting and team collaboration
- Virginia CPA license or willingness to obtain within 6 months
