As a Remote Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and providing critical insights to drive business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist with the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Conduct internal audits and assist external auditors during the year-end process.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve accounting processes and reporting systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of tax laws, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, self-directed environment.
