Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately calculate and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees using [Software Name], ensuring timely distribution of wages.
- Compliance Management: Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations, including FICA, FUTA, and SUTA.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee timesheets, tax forms (W-2s, 1099s), and deductions.
- Employee Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding pay stubs, tax deductions, and time-off balances.
- Reporting: Prepare and reconcile payroll reports for management and assist with year-end audits and tax filings.
- System Maintenance: Regularly review and update employee information in payroll systems to ensure data integrity.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification in Accounting or Payroll Processing is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing, accounting, or a related financial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and minimize errors.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex payroll information clearly to non-financial staff.
- Time Management: Ability to meet strict deadlines, especially during payroll processing windows.
