As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a critical role in the smooth operation of our organization by managing complex payroll functions and maintaining strict compliance with state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 500 employees using ADP Workforce Now.
- Calculate wages, taxes, deductions, and garnishments with 100% accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute federal and state tax documents (W-2s, 1099s) in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries efficiently.
- Ensure strict compliance with California labor laws and payroll regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports for the Finance Director.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax filings.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
- Expert knowledge of California payroll laws and federal tax regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or BambooHR) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee data with the highest level of confidentiality.
