In this role, you will play a critical part in our operations by managing the full-cycle payroll process, ensuring strict compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining the integrity of our financial records.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify payroll data for accuracy, ensuring timely payment to all employees.
- Calculate overtime, commissions, bonuses, and deductions in strict adherence to company policy and labor laws.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll tax reports, ensuring timely remittance to federal, state, and local authorities.
- Maintain confidential payroll records and files, ensuring full compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Respond to and resolve employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax forms (W-2/W-4), garnishments, and deductions.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including 401(k) reporting and W-2 generation.
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to update employee information and maintain payroll databases.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, ideally within a corporate or multi-state environment.
- Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Strong working knowledge of FLSA, federal, and state wage and hour laws.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors in data entry.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- High level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
