Responsibilities
- Financial Reconciliation: Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure all general ledger accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
- AP & AR Management: Process invoices, manage accounts payable, and handle accounts receivable collections with a focus on timeliness.
- Payroll Support: Assist in the processing of payroll for multiple entities, ensuring tax withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets for client review.
- Expense Management: Review and approve employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize cloud-based accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) to streamline data entry and reporting workflows.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the collection of documentation needed for quarterly and annual tax filings.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in a small business or accounting firm setting.
- Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero is required; experience with Wave or FreshBooks is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and other office productivity tools.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for identifying discrepancies in financial data.
- Communication: Professional demeanor with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to clients and team members.
- Schedule: Must be available for a consistent part-time schedule (approx. 20-25 hours per week).
