Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Manage daily accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all invoices are recorded accurately and payments are processed on time.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports, for review by senior management.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and credit card accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and tax filings to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Compliance & Auditing: Maintain organized financial records and assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve data accuracy using Excel and accounting software.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 2-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with part-time or freelance accounting backgrounds.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage; strong command of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and maintain high standards of accuracy in all financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Self-Management: Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet tight deadlines without supervision.
