You will work closely with senior accountants to learn industry-standard software, process transactions, and ensure accuracy in every record. Responsibilities
- Process Transactions: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, in our accounting software.
- Reconcile Accounts: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statements to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of basic financial reports, such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements, for management review.
- Invoice Management: Generate and send invoices to clients, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain the aging report.
- Record Keeping: Organize and digitize financial documents, receipts, and invoices to ensure a clean and accessible filing system.
- Support Close: Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing process by collecting necessary documentation and reconciling temporary accounts.
- Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for client inquiries regarding billing and account status in a professional and courteous manner.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; however, familiarity with accounting concepts through coursework or internships is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) being a strong asset.
- Software Knowledge: Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or Xero is a major plus but not mandatory as training will be provided.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure high accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
