Responsibilities
- Assist with Month-End Close: Support the monthly and annual closing processes by preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations and credit card statement reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, verify data, and manage accounts receivable collections.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare basic financial reports and assist in the preparation of variance analysis for management review.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) to maintain accurate digital records.
- Compliance: Help ensure that all financial practices adhere to internal controls and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred, but entry-level candidates with internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to work with high precision and catch errors in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time in our Louisville office.
