Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Process payroll using ADP or similar platforms, ensuring compliance with California labor laws.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet).
- Assist with year-end tax preparation and working with external auditors when required.
- Monitor accounts for irregularities and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Assist clients with budgeting and forecasting requests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 2+ years of professional bookkeeping experience in a busy office environment.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage (FreshBooks is a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Familiarity with California Franchise Tax Board requirements and state-specific payroll tax laws.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to clients.
