Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, verify receipts, and ensure timely payments to vendors while managing collections from clients.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved immediately.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Payroll Management: Assist in the processing of payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Update and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurate and posted correctly.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist the senior accountant in gathering documentation for tax filings and year-end audits.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and proficiency in accounting software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data integrity in financial records.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and team members effectively.
