Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, journal entries, and financial reports.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including adjusting entries.
- Process payroll entries and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Assist the accounting manager with tax preparation filings and audit requests.
- Organize and file financial documents and records for easy retrieval.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in bookkeeping or general accounting.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot errors quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
