Responsibilities
- Invoice Processing: Accurately generate and send invoices to clients and patients, ensuring all billing data is error-free.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Monitor outstanding accounts, follow up on overdue payments, and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
- Claims Management: Submit claims to insurance payers (commercial and government) and follow up on denials and rejections.
- Data Analysis: Review billing reports to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure all billing practices adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for billing inquiries, providing clear and professional responses.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or accounts receivable.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot discrepancies in data and numbers.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and vendors.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
