We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Weekend Accountant to join our finance team in the heart of Washington, DC. Responsibilities
- Perform Weekly Reconciliations: Conduct thorough bank reconciliations and general ledger account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Process Journal Entries: Accurately record and post daily and weekly journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports, variance analysis, and management summaries.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Review and process invoices and payments, ensuring all documentation is complete and approved.
- Compliance & Auditing: Maintain accurate records and support internal and external audits as required.
- System Management: Utilize accounting software to update ledgers and ensure all financial systems are functioning correctly.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems).
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating or fixed schedule.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify discrepancies and resolve financial issues efficiently.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
