Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Xero and QuickBooks
- Process high-volume accounts payable/receivable with 24-hour turnaround targets
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts monthly
- Prepare VAT returns and support HMRC inquiries
- Generate management accounts and financial reports for 15+ SME clients
- Implement internal controls to prevent financial discrepancies
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on bookkeeping experience
- Proven expertise with Xero/QuickBooks and Excel (advanced functions)
- Recognized bookkeeping certification (AAT Level 3/4 or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
- Exceptional accuracy with financial data and deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple client portfolios simultaneously
- Relevant degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
