Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and corporate income tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S) with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and filing deadlines.
- Conduct tax research and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation and explain complex tax concepts.
- Maintain accurate client records and prepare necessary supporting schedules.
- Utilize industry-standard tax software (ProSeries, Lacerte) for efficient return preparation.
- Assist with year-end audit support and other accounting functions as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or EA certification is preferred; currently studying for certification is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation, corporate, or individual taxation.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and current tax laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and tax preparation software.
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
