Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership federal and state tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065) with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct tax research to interpret complex tax codes and ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and assist in the preparation of supporting schedules for audits.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and provide timely responses to inquiries regarding tax liabilities.
- Assist senior tax professionals in developing comprehensive tax planning strategies to minimize tax liability legally.
- Stay current with industry trends, tax law updates, and software advancements to maintain professional competence.
- Manage multiple deadlines effectively, ensuring all deliverables are submitted on time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA or EA certification is preferred; candidates with 1-3 years of experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software such as ProSystem fx, Lacerte, or UltraTax is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team under tight deadlines.
