Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporate and individual clients
- Conduct tax research and compliance analysis to ensure adherence to current regulations
- Assist with tax planning strategies to optimize client outcomes
- Collaborate with audit teams to resolve tax discrepancies
- Utilize tax software (ProSystem fx, CCH, Lacerte) for efficient processing
- Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-specialist clients
- Stay updated on tax law changes through continuous education
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 2+ years of tax preparation experience in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of IRS regulations and tax compliance standards
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and client management skills
- Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Active North Carolina CPA license or commitment to obtain within 6 months
