Responsibilities
- Process and verify payroll data for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and commission-based staff, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Manage the full payroll cycle using our ADP system, including timekeeping data entry, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (941, W-2s, etc.) in compliance with FLSA regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies and providing detailed explanations.
- Reconcile payroll bank accounts and maintain accurate general ledger entries for payroll expenses.
- Assist in the implementation of new payroll policies and the optimization of current payroll procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing or a related financial role.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- In-depth knowledge of Kentucky state labor laws, FLSA regulations, and federal tax compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to detect errors and resolve complex payroll issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-financial staff.
