Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Lead financial audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth execution
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Analyze financial performance trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and tax filing requirements
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent professional accounting certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting within a UK-based organization
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, or Xero) and Excel
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and HMRC regulations
- Proven experience managing end-to-end accounting cycles and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience leading audits and implementing financial controls
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
