Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll cycles with precision
- Prepare monthly financial statements, VAT returns, and management reports
- Oversee bank reconciliations and cash flow management
- Implement and improve accounting systems for operational efficiency
- Collaborate with auditors during compliance reviews and tax filings
- Maintain digital and physical financial documentation in accordance with UK regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience (3+ years) in bookkeeping or accounting role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage accounting software
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
- Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
- AAT Level 3/4 or equivalent accounting qualification
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Experience managing multi-currency transactions
- Excellent communication skills for client/stakeholder interactions
