Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our growing finance team in London. This is an urgent hiring position for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a keen eye for detail.
As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring full compliance with UK tax regulations. You will be responsible for managing the full cycle of bookkeeping and providing high-quality financial reporting to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statements.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC guidelines.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and statutory accounts.
- Process payroll inputs and maintain accurate payroll records.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data by maintaining organized ledgers and filing systems.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, AAT qualification or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant within the UK.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Deep understanding of UK tax laws, including Corporation Tax and PAYE.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a busy office environment.
