Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping processes including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
- Prepare monthly management accounts, VAT returns, and statutory financial statements
- Oversee month-end/year-end closing procedures with journal entries and adjustments
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls for financial operations
- Collaborate with auditors during financial reviews and ensure compliance with UK GAAP
- Develop financial reports and KPI dashboards for stakeholder decision-making
- Optimize accounting software workflows (QuickBooks/Xero/Sage) for efficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' UK-based bookkeeping experience with SMEs
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks/Xero/Sage and advanced Excel skills
- Proven track record of handling multi-currency transactions and VAT compliance
- Relevant accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error financial reporting
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex reconciliations
