Responsibilities
- Manage Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for management review.
- Payroll Management: Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist the finance team with year-end tax preparations and ensure all necessary documentation is organized.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and software systems to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero is required; experience with Sage 50 is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and basic tax laws.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
