Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile complex general ledger accounts with 100% accuracy
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for diverse client portfolios
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles and payroll processing
- Oversee sales tax filings and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Implement and optimize accounting software systems (QuickBooks, Xero)
- Lead month-end closing procedures with strict deadlines
- Provide strategic financial insights to senior management and clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience in public accounting
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification preferred
- Deep understanding of GAAP and Illinois tax regulations
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to microscopic detail
- Proven ability to manage high-volume transactions and tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills for client-facing financial reporting
