Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and accounting software
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
- Process payroll and manage accounts payable/receivable
- Prepare monthly financial reports and tax documentation
- Ensure compliance with Illinois state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with auditors during financial reviews
- Train junior accounting staff on best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA certification preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and Illinois tax laws
- Proven ability to manage multiple client portfolios
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with financial reporting software (e.g., Xero)
