Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile multi-currency general ledgers using Xero and QuickBooks
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping cycles for 15+ SME clients
- Prepare VAT returns and HMRC compliance documentation
- Oversee payroll processing and auto-enrolment schemes
- Generate monthly management accounts and variance analyses
- Led month-end/year-end closures with audit trail documentation
- Implement process improvements using automation tools like Dext
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years UK-based bookkeeping experience
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent accounting qualification
- Advanced proficiency in Xero/QuickBooks and Excel
- Deep knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT regulations, and HMRC requirements
- Proven experience with multi-currency transactions
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance
- Ability to manage high-volume client portfolios under tight deadlines
