Responsibilities
- Manage complete bookkeeping cycles for 15-20 clients using Xero and QuickBooks
- Prepare monthly management accounts and VAT returns with 100% accuracy
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and control accounts weekly
- Oversee payroll processing and RTI submissions for SME clients
- Generate financial reports and KPI dashboards for stakeholder meetings
- Implement cloud-based accounting solutions for new client onboarding
- Maintain HMRC compliance and digital tax strategy documentation
Qualifications
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or equivalent accounting qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping for SMEs
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Excel
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
- Experience managing client relationships and stakeholder communication
- Certification in cloud accounting platforms (Xero Advisor preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
