Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT returns to HMRC.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and budgeting processes.
- Process payroll for the UK team using [Software Name] and ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation.
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures efficiently.
- Communicate with clients and vendors regarding billing inquiries and account discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Finance Assistant.
- Relevant professional qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax laws, specifically VAT and PAYE.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with large volumes of data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
