Responsibilities
- End-to-end bookkeeping for 15+ SME clients including bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and payroll processing
- Management of multi-currency accounts with daily FX rate adjustments
- Preparation of management accounts and year-end financial statements (UK GAAP compliant)
- Implementation and optimization of cloud accounting systems (Xero/QuickBooks)
- Liaison with auditors and tax authorities during compliance reviews
- Mentorship of junior bookkeepers through structured training programs
- Process automation initiatives to improve team efficiency by 30%+
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' UK bookkeeping experience with SME portfolios
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent professional qualification essential
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks Online, and Excel (VBA desirable)
- Proven track record in HMRC compliance and VAT investigations
- Experience with multi-currency accounting and international transactions
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify financial discrepancies
- Certified Cloud Accounting Professional (CCAP) certification preferred
