Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15+ diverse SME clients across multiple currencies
- Reconcile complex bank accounts and process high-volume transactions daily
- Generate monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet) with variance analysis
- Oversee VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
- Implement and maintain digital accounting systems using Xero and QuickBooks
- Lead month-end closing procedures with zero-tolerance for errors
- Collaborate with auditors during annual financial reviews
- Mentor junior bookkeepers on best practices and software proficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in UK bookkeeping with SMEs
- Proven expertise in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage software
- ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA qualification or equivalent experience required
- Advanced Excel skills with VBA and Power Query proficiency
- Deep knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC compliance requirements
- Experience managing multi-currency accounts and international transactions
- Exceptional attention to detail with 100% reconciliation accuracy
- Strong leadership skills with proven team mentoring experience
