Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end billing cycle, including invoicing, posting payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Review and analyze billing statements to identify discrepancies and resolve outstanding issues with clients and insurance carriers.
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal billing regulations, including HIPAA standards.
- Prepare and submit accurate claims to third-party payers to minimize denials and maximize revenue.
- Generate and maintain detailed reports on billing metrics, aging receivables, and financial performance.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve billing processes and implement best practices.
- Train and mentor junior billing staff on proper procedures and software usage.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in billing, revenue cycle management, or accounts receivable.
- Proficiency with billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding principles.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client correspondence.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
