The Role:
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be the gatekeeper of our financial outflows. You will ensure that vendors are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strict internal controls and compliance standards. This role is critical to our operations, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify a high volume of invoices (AP) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
- Manage vendor relationships, including resolving billing discrepancies and answering inquiries in a timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and maintain up-to-date general ledger accounts for accounts payable.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports related to accounts payable and cash flow forecasting.
- Perform regular audits of the AP system to identify errors, trends, or potential fraud.
- Assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of verifiable experience in Accounts Payable, General Ledger, or a related finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
