Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss accounts.
- Manage the end-of-month close process with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle weekly payroll processing and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Prepare and file VAT returns and year-end tax computations.
- Assist in the preparation of annual statutory audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly.
- Provide financial analysis and budgeting support to senior management.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or AAT qualified (or working towards full qualification).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a UK accounting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Deep understanding of UK GAAP and HMRC compliance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance staff.
