Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end closing
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and variance reports
- Oversee payroll processing with weekly distribution to employees
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and Texas state tax laws
- Collaborate with auditors during annual reviews and implement audit recommendations
- Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and strategic planning
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated expertise in payroll processing and multi-state tax compliance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with financial audits and regulatory reporting
- Texas residency required for local compliance knowledge
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
