Your Role
As the Senior Accountant, you will oversee the daily financial operations, prepare monthly and annual financial statements, and ensure the accuracy of our accounting records. You will also lead a small team of junior accountants, providing mentorship and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Manage general ledger functions, including reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and inter-company accounts.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Conduct monthly audits and variance analysis to identify trends and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Lead and mentor a team of 3 junior accountants, conducting performance reviews and training sessions.
- Collaborate with the finance director to improve financial reporting systems and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- CPA certification is highly preferred but not strictly required for this role.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis.
- Proven experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
