Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the daily operations of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal review and client reporting.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage cash flow by processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and managing accounts receivable aging.
- Cost Accounting: Monitor and analyze costs to help drive profitability and efficiency within the organization.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in external audits and ensure all regulatory filings are submitted accurately and on time.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting software and internal processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or large corporation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal and state tax regulations, including California tax laws.
