Responsibilities
- Manage month-end closing processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Lead accounts payable/receivable operations and optimize cash flow management
- Conduct internal audits and ensure adherence to SOX compliance requirements
- Develop and implement financial forecasting models to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and variance analysis initiatives
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Prepare tax documentation and liaise with external auditors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with remote work exposure
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Microsoft Excel (Advanced Functions)
- Deep understanding of GAAP, SOX, and Virginia tax regulations
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Proven experience in financial reporting and process improvement
