Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As a fully remote role, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United Kingdom while contributing to our financial success. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to the management team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of month-end and year-end accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns and compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process for the organization.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure cash flow management.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualified (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience of at least 3-5 years in a similar accounting role within the UK market.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax and Income Tax.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
