Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-month-end accounting processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Lead preparation of statutory accounts and VAT returns compliant with UK GAAP
- Oversee payroll processing and pension scheme administration for UK employees
- Develop and implement financial controls to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Drive process improvements using automation tools (e.g., Xero, Sage)
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent UK accounting qualification
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in UK accounting
- Expert knowledge of UK GAAP, HMRC regulations, and FRS 102 standards
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with VBA experience and ERP systems (Sage/Xero)
- Proven track record of managing month-end closing processes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with payroll systems and auto-enrolment compliance
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder management
