In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to the management team.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and month-end close processes.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT returns and compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Assist in the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts to support business decision-making.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in UK accounting and finance.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax laws and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
