Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and maintaining the general ledger.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Monitor and analyze accounts receivable and payable processes to optimize cash flow and vendor relationships.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and reports are delivered on time.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the finance department and implement best practices.
- Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all financial laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US GAAP, tax laws, and internal controls.
- Integrity: Demonstrated high ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive financial information.
