Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits to ensure accurate claim submission.
- Process medical claims accurately using Epic and AthenaHealth EHR systems.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid invoices and outstanding balances.
- Research and resolve denied or rejected claims with payers to maximize reimbursement.
- Prepare and audit monthly billing reports and financial summaries for management review.
- Collaborate with the billing team to improve revenue cycle workflows and reduce denials.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Medical Billing, Healthcare Administration, or Accounting required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management.
- Strong proficiency with CPT, ICD-10 coding guidelines, and HCPCS Level II.
- Excellent computer skills, specifically with MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and billing software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
