We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in the heart of London.

What you'll do:
At Apex Financial Solutions, we value precision and integrity. In this role, you will lead the monthly and quarterly accounting cycles, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and tax regulations. You will collaborate closely with the finance director to improve financial processes and drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end monthly and quarterly accounting cycles, including preparation of trial balances and financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of VAT returns and year-end accounts.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Assist with external audits and provide requested documentation to auditors and HMRC.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports to support decision-making.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and manage intercompany reconciliations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA qualified or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the UK financial sector.
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and tax legislation (HMRC).
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or NetSuite).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
