Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate general ledger records, perform reconciliations, and ensure data integrity across all financial systems.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including variance analysis and journal entry preparation, ensuring timely reporting.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and internal controls reviews, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, implement new software solutions, and enhance internal controls.
- Compliance: Ensure the company remains compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior accounting staff and collaborate with cross-functional departments to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a significant plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite preferred), and accounting software.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearly.
