Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end and year-end closures
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Oversee VAT returns, payroll processing, and tax compliance
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls and processes
- Collaborate with auditors during financial reviews and audits
- Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives for departmental projects
- Mentor junior accounting staff and ensure team compliance with GAAP
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent professional certification
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in UK GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Sage 50/Xero)
- Demonstrated experience with multi-currency transactions and international reporting
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder reporting
- Experience in financial services or fintech sector preferred
