Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring full compliance with GAAP standards.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all journal entries and reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations to ensure a smooth audit process.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and company policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for increased efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
