Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to support decision-making.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform variance analysis and assist in the budgeting process to optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with the finance team to implement process improvements and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or CPA candidate status is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies in financial data.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
