Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Manage complex general ledger activities, reconciliations, and intercompany reporting.
- Prepare detailed variance analyses and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with UK tax legislation, including VAT and Corporation Tax.
- Oversee the audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
- Streamline financial workflows and implement best practices for process efficiency.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team training initiatives.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPD qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a Senior Accountant or Financial Controller role within the UK market.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and macros.
- Deep understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
