Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Management Accounts: Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights to the management team, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Compliance: Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met, including VAT returns and corporation tax filings.
- Process Improvement: Streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Month-End Close: Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and assist in their professional development.
Qualifications
- Qualifications: Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or part-qualified with substantial experience (AAT Level 4).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the UK finance sector.
- Software: Proficiency in advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and integrity in handling financial data.
